Phew! I think I’m finally recovered from Lupercalia. I still have a pile of Dossie Easton’s books to read however but I am looking forward to having a look through those. I like picking up books from the speakers in person because you can get them signed and you’ve had a chance to talk to them a bit so when you read it it will have a bit more of a personal touch for you.
Went to our monthly community play party last weekend and had a wonderful time. I was co-host for the event so was responsible for setup/teardown and helping DM the dungeon throughout the evening but our community is awesome in that there were plenty of people who helped out when they saw there was a need. I’m always amazed at how many people get up and pitch in when required no questions asked. It’s really good and appreciated!
I had an opportunity to work on some more of my temp piercing skills. I had the opportunity to do a corset on the back of a friend in the community and it turned out really well (see picture below). It took probably about an hour or a bit more from start to finish but the results were well worth it and she was well pleased too which made it even better.
I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out. This was also a good example of what community mentoring can do for your skillset. I have dabbled with temp piercing on and off for a little while and this was the largest piece I’ve done to date. Fortunately two friends of mine (who are well into this) agreed to help me out in that they “seconded” my play session and offered advice on what I was doing, how I was doing it and what I could do to make it better and safer (clean environment, technique, etc). I find you must always go into each play session willing to learn and improve from the experience. It’s not that you don’t necessarily have the talent or the ability but you can always improve or learn something new! That was really appreciated and it certainly helps me build confidence in my skillset when doing play such as this as technique and safety are both of utmost importance for your bottom, yourself and those around you (as is especially the case with any flavour of play involving blood). Once I got going it was pretty straight forward but required a good degree of concentration. It also gave me a chance to use my new black gloves woo hoo! The two who helped me out deserve a big thanks!
In order to get better at your chosen play styles you also need people to play with and it can be difficult to find people who are interested or, perhaps to be more specific, willing. You, of course, want somebody who knows what they are doing with this sort of thing before they turn you into a porcupine (and that’s understandable and correct) but it’s the classic catch-22. I’m always looking for new potential play partners for this style of play but its hard to find them especially when you are not “known” as a player in that area. Hopefully this will raise my profile a bit and enable me to play a bit more, gain more skill and experience and try different things (I’d like to do the corset piercing again and also try it with rings similar to what one of my friends did at Lupercalia) not to mention help the bottom hit that endorphin rush that goes hand in hand with pokey play
It was certainly a good rush and experience for me!!

You did a fantastic job with both Lupercalia and the corset piercing. I look forward to watching more of your piercing ’scenes’. =)
There it is again! Eeeek!
Still can’t talk you into trying it Sophie?
